Summer activities calls for a fun summer layout filled with bright colours and fun accents. For this layout I used bright yellow, red and blue coloured patterned papers to highlight the photos of my nephew playing around the fish pond. Stamped accents and fun boy rub-ons finishes off this beautiful layout filled with colour.

I combined three patterned papers together with a fourth patterned paper design as my background for this layout. To make my photos stand out against the white background paper I matted them onto a bright red cardstock. I made some really easy and fun accents out of the little white plastic tabs used to close a loaf of bread. I stamped them using a simple image and a grey Stazon ink made especially for plastic and glossy surfaces so it won’t rub off. These little accents were adhered to my layout using bright coloured epoxy brads in fun summery designs.

To add interest to my title I used a whole bunch of words that describes summer and its activities. In between each word I added a dimensional flower for interest that creates a moment of pausing. I used a flower punch and punched flowers out of my floral patterned paper – the edges were inked in a light creamy brown chalk ink. Two flowers were then adhered together with a thin foam dot and finished off with a yellow diamante centre.

I used Smooch Spritz to add some bright yellow colour to my background paper as well as to my stamped image on the left side of the layout. The yellow was the perfect colour to add some warm summer sun into my layout. I sprayed two quick bursts onto my background and left it to dry. For my stamped image I first sprayed a piece of white cardstock and after the ink dried I stamped my image and cut it out. For dimension I raised it using double sided foam tape.
