Magazines - Issue 05 (Dec 2007) (Public)

This month's cover image was inspired by my favourite silk ribbon from Japan. The colours are simply divine and perfect inspiration for the summer months ahead. I made a travel journal where I could include bits and pieces from all over the world.

Soften the metal spine by adding silk ribbon and tags
To cover the metal spine I added different kinds of ribbon with tags. Index sized photographs, tags, journaling, tickets stubs, key rings, clothing tags and boarding passes can all be used to decorate the spine as well as inside.

Cover an ugly line where paper joins with buttons or ribbon
I used a selection of patterned papers for the cover. To cover the line formed where the papers are joined I used buttons in the same colours and adhered them with silicone. Combine papers in the same colour range to add interest.

Add extra space for journaling with a foldout mini-album
On the front cover of the mini-album I added a concertina foldout tied with the bow. Inside is loads of space for journaling with a list of places visited, dates, names and important things I don't want to forget.
