The arrangement of a heading, text, illustrations, photos and artwork on a page. Especially in scrapbooking the design of your layout should form a visually pleasing whole to the viewer.


The speed at which a pigment, coloured paper or photographs fades in sunlight. Photo should be stored away from direct sunlight and harsh conditions.


A component of the cell walls in plants. Its presence in paper may contribute to chemical degradation. it can be removed during the manufacturing process. Lignin is considered more harmful to photographs than acid.
