Subscription Information

This form allows you to subscribe to imagine e-articles. Subscriptions are only R 120.00 for a full 12 months and will give you full access to the growing wealth of scrapbooking information on our site.

Also read our subscription packages article on our home page that contains more detailed information.

To subscribe to imagine e-articles is quick and secure. Quick because you simply need to provide the requested information below. Secure because we don't collect any banking information on our site. After submitting this form you will be sent an e-mail containing payment information. You then simply make a transfer to our account from your online banking or internally at your bank. Our site will automatically be notified when your payment has been cleared by our bank after which you will receive a confirmation e-mail and your subscription will immediately be activated.

After subscribing here your username and password will be reserved for one month as to allow enough time for the electronic transfer to be made.

Below are fields that allow you to:

  • Enter your full names (i.e. Jane Doe or John Smith).
  • Enter your username (This must be one word like ScrapWizz101 or TheScrapper).
  • Enter your e-mail address (Payment information/confirmation will be sent here).
  • Enter your password (Combining lower and uppercase letters with numbers is more secure like VeryGoodPass129).
  • Enter your password again (Verify you have typed your password correctly by entering it again).
  • Enter the captcha (Type the 6 numbers being animated above this field).
If the captcha image animates the word 'robot' instead of numbers you may have entered it incorrectly too many times. This is a security feature to curb mass registration by spam bots. You will then have to wait a while before you can try again or e-mail us for assistance. Our various contact details are available from the Contact Details menu item in the panel to the left of this page.

All fields are mandatory and errors will be displayed on this page, so if you are redirected to our homepage when you click the arrow button below the subscription process was successful. Check your e-mail to complete the subscription.

Full Names:

Enter your first and last names into this field.

Format:
Your full names should be your first and last name separated by spaces forming two or more capitalised words.

Examples:
  • Jane Doe
  • Jane van der Doe
  • Jo-anne Doe

Usage:
We use your full names to uniquely identify you to other subscribers on our website. This means that your full names must be unique on our website. Because your full names are never used for security related actions like logging in it is more secure to display it rather than your username. To find out why it is not secure to display your username to other subscribers click on the help button next to the username field.

Pitfalls:
We may sometimes refer to you only by your first name, but your last name is never used on its own. This is usually reserved for when we address you directly like in an e-mail. To achieve this we will split your full names at the first space character (i.e. Jane van der Doe becomes Jane).

Validation:
Validation happens in two stages. Initially local JavaScript on your computer checks your entries as you type. The local validation should turn this field red if there is less that 8 characters and allow a maximim of 50 characters. Then once all fields are filled in correctly the remote validation button next to the submit button will become available. Remote validattion checks if the format is correct and if someone is already using your full names on our website without refreshing the entire page. If your fulll names are not available you can try altering it slightly (i.e. Jane Doe becomes Jane Doe II or Janine Doe or even Jane (The Scrapper) Doe). Keep in mind that your first name is always the word before the first space character.
In order for any of the validations on this page to work JavaScript must be supported and enabled in your browser. In all other browsers you will still be able to submit your subscription, but will have to re-enter the fields everytime the server responds with an error message.

Known bugs:
Due to inefficiencies in JavaScript and the random nature of different browsers we cannot locally detect when you use the pop-up menu of a text field. If you therefore right-click on a field and cut/paste some text into/from the field it will not immediately update with the correct validation response. To force the field to update you can click in the field and press any of the arrow keys on the keyboard or simply tab away from the field. This should update the field validation.

About this help pop-up:
This help is displayed using a pop-up box in browsers that support and has JavaScript enabled. To close it and return to the underlying page you simply need to click the little red X button in the top right corner of the pop-up. To move it out of the way click on the blue bar at the top and drag it to the desired location whilst keeping the mouse button down. To resize it click on the little gray dots in the bottom right corner and drag it to the desired size whilst keeping the mouse button down. The pop-up does not block access to the rest of the page, so you can continue your work whilst keeping the help pop-up open for quick reference. In all other browsers it should open in a new window or tab that can simply be closed when not needed anymore.

Username:

Enter your username into this field.

Format:
Your username must be one word.

Examples:
  • ScrapWizz101
  • TheScrapper
  • iScrap4Love
  • Scrap-a-roo

Usage:
We use your username for security related actions like logging into our website. This means that your username must be unique on our website. Because your username is used for security related actions it is more secure to never display it to other subscribers. Most people think keeping their password safe makes it impossible for others to use their account illegally. This is only half true. Since you log in using your username and password each of them accounts for 50% of your overall security. If someone knows your username they only need to figure out what your password is to use your account, and the same is true in reverse if they know your password. For this reason keeping both your username and password secret is vital. Most people like to use the same username for all security accounts they hold on the internet which means that if a hacker can see your username in a chatroom or other social networking website they already have 50% of the work done for them to access all your accounts. It is good practice to view your username and password as extensions of eachother and to apply the same security precautions for both. Click the help button next to the password field to find out how to choose secure login credentials.

Pitfalls:
If someone gains access to your account and logs in at the same time as you our server will block the account and you will need to go through a lengthy process to get the block lifted. It is therefore imperative that you choose secure login credentials and ensure others are not able to guess it simply because they know you.

If your username is not available you can try altering it slightly (i.e. ScrapWizz101 becomes ScrapWizz102 or ScrapWizz101a or even ScrapWizzer).
